With a cast of over hundred actors, it’s not surprising that Game of Thrones boast some of the most attractive women in TV history. Let’s find out some of the actresses who can make your pulse and heart race!
Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen)
Over the course of six seasons, Daenerys Targaryen transformed from being a shrinking character to the incredible Mother of Dragons. Played by the beautiful Emilia Clarke, Daenerys is one of the last living members of House Targaryen, the past rulers of Westeros. Emilia Clarke is an English actress who trained at the Drama Centre in London and has appeared in small roles on TV and adverts. The 29-year-old actress began her adventure as the character of Daenerys in 2011, and has since been honoured with the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama at the EWwy Awards.
Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister)
Lena Headey already had an honourable acting career before joining Game of Thrones as Cersei Lannister. She appeared as Queen Gorgo in the epic movie called ‘300’ in 2007 and even played in ‘The Brothers Grimm’ alongside Matt Damon. As Cersei Lannister, she is the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms and was the wife of King Baratheon. Her three children were the result of an incestuous relationship with Jaime Lannister, her twin brother.
Maisie Williams (Arya Stark)
Not to be judged by her size, Arya Stark has some incredible fighting skills, especially when she is armed with her sword. Known as the second daughter of Lady Catelyn and Lord Eddard, she witnessed the slaughter of her family and fled to the island of Braavos. After returning to Westeros, she impressed with her newly learned skills learned at the House of Black and White. Maisie Williams who brilliantly portrays Arya, has been announced to play the role of a mutant called Wolfsbane in the forthcoming X-Men film franchise, known as New Mutants.
Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark)
Sansa Stark has come a long way from the role of a naïve and innocent political pawn that she once used to be. Now the eldest daughter of Eddard’s fate lies in her own hands, as she allies herself with the scary Littlefinger. Sansa has been the first role of Sophie Turner, and it even got her a nomination for the Young Artist Award for her incredible performance. In 2013, Sophie appeared the TV film called The Thirteenth on BBC Two.
Carice van Houten (Melisandre)
Carice Van Houten is the Dutch actress who takes on the creepy role of Melisandre, the Red Priestess. As a server of the Lord of Light, this intriguing character has accomplished quite some gruesome acts. These included the use of blood magic to kill Renly Baratheon and burning people alive, including Shireen, the daughter of Stannis Baratheon. In the year 2008, Van Houten was named as the best Dutch actress of all time by her compatriots. In recent years, she has done some interesting TV appearances in Late Night with Seth Meyer, Robot Chicken and The Simpsons.
