Easter Home Decor
How alarming is it that its Easter soon! You know you automatically go into panic mode when it’s one or two days to Easter. You realise you haven’t prepared anything and the Easter atmosphere is just missing in your home. Time flies but here are some awesome and affordable ideas for you. General home décor for Easter are polka dotted or checked napkins, spring wreath, mason jars.
Lucky for you, we have some tips and tricks to share with you. Eggs can be decorated either raw (but that would be a bit tricky) hard boiled, plastic or empty. To get a full empty egg shell is quite easy. Just crack a medium hole at the bottom of an egg and drain it all out into a bowl, of course you wouldn’t want to waste an egg! Bacon would be so lost without her eggs!
Anyway, let’s get down to this egg décor business.
- Pastel coloured thread
- Liquid starch
- Water balloons
Method: Blow your balloons big enough you can cover it with a hand. Place your desired thread into loose loops in a bowl where you’ve poured your liquid starch. Start wrapping your thread around your balloon to create a web like effect. When you’re done, cut it off and let it dry. When the thread is hard and firm you can pop your balloons. Repeat this until you have the required amount of “eggs”. Hot glue them all together in a circular manner to achieve a wreath and let dry, add your ribbon and there you have it, your home-made wreath.
Flowers in a bucket
- A pastel coloured metal bucket
- A bunch of coloured tulips
- Raffia garden string.
- Water (optional)
Method: Fill your bucket with water (or not), arrange your flowers and loosely tie them up and place them into the bucket. This gives off a wonderful vintage look and is stunning.
- White vinegar
- Hard boiled eggs
- Plastic cups
- Food colouring
- Boiling water
- Muffin tray
Method for one egg: In a cup, add 2 tablespoons of white vinegar, 1 cup of boiling water to cover the egg, more than 10 drops of food colouring. The colours could be mixed too. Place your egg into the cup and rest for 15 minutes. Flip the egg over after 7 minutes. When your timer goes off, remove the eggs carefully and place them into a muffin tray to dry. And there you have it, beautiful vibrant eggs you’ll never want to eat. Again, this would be great for parties or dinner plans.
